Fed Up with ThredUP

What is Thred Up? It's awesome. That's what it is... well, it WAS awesome.

Thred Up is a website I can totally get down with. Again, I'm still a bit new to this, so I'm still learning, but it's kind of like Yerdle, except Thred Up is all about the clothing.

So here's the run down: Sign up (Here), earn $20 to shop free with. They always have deals and discounts and free shipping coupon codes. You can sort it through various filters, or type in whatever you're looking for...you can even type "new with tags" and get brand new items. Check back often, because the inventory is always changing, since they're unique items donated by people like you and I.

Once you've spent your $20, you can get even more free credits by sharing the link with your friends. Once they sign up and spend their $20, you get a $20 credit... per friend. It's like the gift that keeps giving. So far I've spent $60 in free credits and have received: 4 pair of shorts for my son, 4 shirts, and a dress. I've only paid $16.89 TOTAL on shipping and whatever my credits didn't cover.

It's a beautiful webiste. You don't have to wander out into the cold to go shopping. Shop from the comfort of your couch like I do.

In order to Donate clothing to ThredUp, you have to order a cleanout kit. Fill the kit with "like new", less than 5 years old, and mail the bag back, via FedEx.

I've recently purchased my kit and they give you a list of "unacceptable" brands.... and brands that they do want... but I still just put whatever I had in there. I figured if they didn't want the clothes (most of them are brand new) then they can send them to their own fabric recycler that they use. Once I actually mail my package out, I'll update this and let you know how it went for me.

I did the whole "Closet clean out kit" thing... and made a whole $5.25.... I had TWO coach purses in there, from the Coach store.. one had been used for a day.  $5.25..... Slightly flustered.  So, my recommendation is to buy, but not sell, on Thred UP
