Eliminator Electronic Fly & Bug Zapper

I really wish I would have gotten this  bug zapper over the summer!  I own 12 chickens and 2 goats so in the summer we get more than our share of flies.  When it rains my backyard gets marshy and full of mosquitoes.  This would have come in handy!

Now that it's cold out, I have not gotten the chance to test this to it's full capabilities.   I have the occasional stink bug in my house, but not much else.

From what I've seen, this device is not rated to be outside in the elements.  You CAN hang it outside with you, if you're just hanging out on a nice day, but you'd need to bring it back inside once you go in.  Don't leave it out over night or during bad weather.

The device is easy to use.  You plug it in and then flip the on off switch.  There is a removable tray which captures the dead bugs and it has a chain to hang it up with.  Very easy to use.  Very economically priced.

I tried to pay my son $10 to touch it, but he wouldn't, so I don't have a video of this actually in use.  -I will try to update later once I get a video.

Gideon Spa Shiatsu & Tapping with Heat Cushion

I've received four different Gideon Spa massage cushion chairs.  They're all fairly similar, but a little bit different.  This massage cushion and one other are pretty similar. This one is pretty identical to the other one I have; I'm seriously wondering if they weren't packaged incorrectly and really are the same thing.

Just like the others, the cushion fits nicely in most chairs.  The head pillow is detachable.  There are straps to hold the back of the cushion onto a chair and the seat cushion to a chair.  The control tucks nicely into a small side pocket.  You have the option to use the cushion in your car with the cigarette lighter plug in, or in the house with the regular plug in adapter.

With the remote control, you can use the option of upper back, lower back, or full back massage.  The massaging nodules can be heated, if you turn on the heating function by pressing the button.  You've also got a "SPOT" setting, if you find a spot that needs more work than other parts of your body.  You also have the ability to add tapping.  You can upgrade or downgrade the intensity by hitting up or down arrow buttons.

The seat vibration has three settings of low, medium or high.

You can set a timer for 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

If you press the DEMO button, it will run through the various settings and a light will show up on each of the settings, so you know what it is currently displaying.

Once you are ready to power off the device, hold the power button.  It will flash for a few moments, the massaging nodules will go back to it's original starting position and then it will shut off.

I did receive this product at a discounted rate.

Gideon Spa Shiatsu Massage Cushion with HEAT

I've received four different Gideon Spa massage cushion chairs.  They're all fairly similar, but a little bit different.  This massage cushion and one other are pretty similar.  To be honest, there isn't a huge difference between them; the only difference is that this cushion does NOT have the tapping ability, like the other more expensive cushion.

This cushion fits nicely in most chairs.

Gideon Spa Vibration Massager Seat with 8 Massage Programs

This is the absolute most basic chair massager that I have received from Gideon Spa.

Like the other Chair Massagers that I own, the cushion fits nicely in most chairs; this seat is a little more plush than the others.

With this massager you have very limited functions.  Turn the device on or off.  Hit the function button and you can scroll through 8 vibration settings.  -My box says 6, but it actually does have 8 modes.  Then you have the option to add heat to the massagers.   There is a 30 minute timer; I did not find a way to adjust the time.  It does count down for you.

Unlike the other chairs, the massagers don't move around.  They are stationary.

Once you are ready to power off the device, hold the power button.

Gideon Spa Shiatsu Massaging Cushion with Heat & Seat Vibrations

Of all the Gideon Spa Shiatsu Massaging cushions that I now own, this seems to be one of the most basic.

The cushion fits nicely in most chairs.

Once you are ready to power off the device, hold the power button.  It will flash for a few moments, the massaging nodules will go back to it's original starting position and then it will shut off.

As I previously stated, this is one of the more basic cushions, but the massage settings are fabulous.  I could sit in the chair all night and let it rub my back for me.

Chill-O Beer Face Glasses

Raise your hand if you like beer?  Raise your hand even higher if you LOVE adorable beer drinking glasses!  What is not to love about these super cute beer glasses with smiley faces?

Each glass is designed to hold a full bottle of beer, up to 12 ounces.  There's enough room at the top, that it won't overfill if you have a beer that is full of head and more foamy than others.  Each glass has the same silly, smiling face on it, so try to not get it mixed up with your friend's glass.

These are made with food safe glass and I have stuck mine in the dishwasher and they came out fine.

If you wan to know where you can find your own smiling beer glasses, click here.

Chill-o Double Wall Bullet Glasses

I recently got the chance to review some really cute double walled Bullet beer glasses, at a discounted rate.

The beer glasses are 440 ml each and comes in a set of two. Being 440 ml, each glass can be filled with a full 12 oz bottle of beer.  They will actually hold a bit more than just the 12 ounces, depending on how much head your beer has.  The outer wall is just a smooth glass wall, but the interior wall is shaped like a long bullet. Seeing that the glasses are double walled, you can hold onto your cup longer and not have to worry about your beer becoming warm from your body heat.

I don't have any real complaints about these glasses.  The glass seems a bit thin, but overall they are really well constructed.  I usually don't let beer sit in my glass for long, so I can't guarantee that the beer stays cooler longer, with the double walls, but I can tell you that your hands don't feel cold while you're holding your beer.

To find your glasses, you can follow this link to the Amazon listing.

As I previously stated, I did get these glasses at a discounted rate.

O-wOw Dual Wand Massager

I recently got the chance to review to Dual wand massager from O-Wow.  And all I can really say about it is... O, WOW.

When you look at the wand, it is curved and easy to hold.  It is 9.5" long (I never found a ruler to actually measure, but this is what the Amazon listing states). On the top half of the massager, there are two power buttons.  Hold the top power button down for a few seconds and it will come.  Every time you hit the power button, it will switch through 10 pulse/vibration/massage settings and after the 10th setting it will turn off.  The top button controls the round, tip end of the massager.  The second, bottom, power button is controlled the same as the top power button.  This button controls the actual wand portion of the massager.  Between the two vibrating portions, you can scroll through and find the settings that fit your needs best.  -One thing I DO NOT LIKE is that if you miss the setting you like you have to either turn it off and scroll back through the settings, or keep scrolling through until you find it again.  There is NO BACK BUTTON on the settings.

To charge the wand, flip it over.  On the bottom half there is a small dot, labeled "DC".  That's where the charger goes.  It takes about 1.5 hours for the device to fully charge.  While charging, a light comes on.  Once it is fully charged, the light goes off.  With the settings I enjoy the most, the wand lasts about 2.5 hours.  It can last up to 3 hours depending on the settings you like.

This device IS waterproof.  You can use it in the shower.  You should NOT submerge this under water.  I'd give this about 3.5 stars out of 5.  It's a nice toy, but it could use some function upgrades.

Anaphora Arts 6 piece Paint Brush Set

I am by no means an ARTIST, but I do have paint & canvas on hand and occasionally like to put paint brush to canvas.  This Anphora Arts paint brush set comes with 6, long handled, synthetic brushes.  There are two round brushes (#0 & #2).  These are the two finer pointed brushes; they're considered "ROUND" because the metal part that holds the bristles in place are round.  Two Filbert brushes (#2 & #8).  The bristles are in a flat line, but the tip of the bristles are slightly rounded. Finally, two flat brushes (#3 & #10).

Before you use the brushes, make sure you soak them in water, to loosen them up.  They are fairly stiff when you first get them.

To demonstrate how well the brushes do or do not work, I have painted a small canvas and took pictures of the brush I used as I created new lines on the canvas.  Follow along below.

With the Round #2 brush, I just made some small, orange strokes on the canvas.

Round #2
With the flat #10 brush, I made a larger brush stroke, with a larger surface area to cover more of the canvas at once.
Flat #10
With the round #0, I was able to make some finer brush strokes and draw some thin lines.  You could easily use this to outline images you are painting.
Round #0
With the Flat #3 brush, you can do a combination of broad, but smaller lines or turn it sideways and make thin brush strokes.  Notice how I fanned the yellow out in the painting.

Flat #3
With the Filbert brush, I found it was better for making a different styles of thin lines.  Notice the purple swirls with the blue and orange.
Filbert #2
With the Filbert #10, you can make ... almost more like a fan stroke.  Not sure how to describe it.  It didn't seem to cover as well as the flat #10 did.  -It could have been the paint though.
Filbert #10
**Random, unrelated Fact.  A filbert is also a Hazelnut!  -It's completely irrelevant, but now that's a thing you know.

If you want to purchase your own paint brushes from Anaphora Arts, you can find them here, on AMAZON.

I did receive these brushes at a discounted rate.

Relax Theory Chinese Cupping Set

Back when I was in Massage Therapy School, we touched briefly on Chinese Cupping.  Back then, it seemed like the Chinese Cupping devices were harder to come by than they are today.  I had a bit of practice with a set back then and loved the results, but I only stuck with it for about a month.

Here it is, about 12 years later, and I'm finding myself back with a Chinese cupping set.  Chinese cupping can be used for a few purposes.  They can be used to break down cellulite under the skin or to relieve tight & achy skin/muscles.

This set comes with a bag, 4 cups and a cellulite massaging device.  Before using either the cups or massager, make sure you lube your body parts up with oil or lotion.   They will rub and pull on your skin and hair and will NOT be comfortable.

To use the massager, you want to gently massage in small, tight circles, going in an outward direction to push the cellulite OUT and break it down.   TO use the cups, squeeze above the base of the cup and place it onto the skin.  Release the squeezing pressure and it should suck up a small bit of skin.  Now gently make a small, circular motion with the cup.

I made a short instructional video here, on YouTube.

Slice Device 8" Chef Knife

Funny enough, a few weeks before, I was at my friend's house cooking her dinner, and we were both cussing about how crappy her kitchen knives were...  Literally the next day, I saw that I could get a nice looking Chef's knife to try out, at a discounted rate.

This is an 8" Chef Knife from Slice Device.  The images on Amazon do not do this beauty any justice.  The knife is sturdy and thick, but not overly bulky.  It's easy to hold on to and handle as you're cutting.  The handle, itself, is a nice wooden handle and very easy to maintain a good grip on.

I went to culinary school for a few years and I've held many HIGH END, pricey knives.  I'm not going to say this is a perfect quality knife, but for the cost, size, strength & durability of knife, it is a very good quality knife that I would not mind having around.  -However, I have some knives I am absolutely in love with, so I allowed my friend to try the knife once I got a good feel for it and then told her to keep it, so she has at least ONE nice knife in her kitchen.

We used the knife to make some Bruschetta; it required slicing tomatoes, onions, garlic & basil.   We were able to cut the tomatoes without squishing them and pushing too hard.  It sliced through onions like they were softened butter.  This knife is pretty nice.

Rest Life Sport Cooling Towel

Last Summer, when my son & I were away at Cub Scout Camp, our den leader had introduced us to sports towels.  They're thin, lightweight towels that are fast wicking and help reduce body temperature, from exercising/overheating, at a fairly rapid rate.

It was well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside and we were hiking through the woods.  Some of the boys started getting hot and getting sick, so he pulled out a few sports towels, doused them with water, aired them out a bit and then slung them over the boys necks as they stood there with their arms up.

I had honestly forgotten about the cooling towels until I found them on Amazon.

The Rest Life towels are pretty similar to the ones my son and I tried at Cub Scout camp.  These come in four colors: gray, blue, pink, or green.  They run around $9/each but are worth every penny. Each towel comes in a hard plastic canister that has a sport clip, so you can easily clip the tube to your backpack or belt loops, for easy carrying.  It's EXTREMELY lightweight; the towel is made of bamboo fibers and one side is a lightweight mesh to help the towel air out and dry quickly.  They are 40" long by 12" wide.

To use the towel, simply immerse it in water, wring it out and lightly wave it around to being a cooling effect, then place it around your neck or on your head/face.  Within minutes you'll start to cool down.  To reactivate the cooling effect, wave it around again and then reapply to you neck, head or face.

It's starting to get pretty cold outside, so we aren't using our towel much, but I have mine clipped on my backpack that we take on our hikes.   I Do wash my towel in the washing machine, but I hang it to dry and I do not use fabric softener on it.

To find your Rest Life cooling towel, you can click here.
